CHAPTER 26

Tears welled up in Koyal’s eyes as she stared at her hair in the mirror. Strands were falling out rapidly each day, and despite countless attempts to suppress her emotions, she could no longer hold back the pain. Neither the physical suffering nor the sight of her deteriorating condition was bearable anymore.

Standing behind her silently was Aavya, holding a trimmer in her hands, watching her sister with deep empathy. She knew all too well how much Koyal loved her hair. Koyal had often said with excitement that after her wedding, the first thing she’d do was grow her hair really long. She wouldn’t have many other responsibilities for a while after marriage.
