Author’s Note for Readers
As I have mentioned before, this book is a part of the Love Wins Series. This story is the prequel to that series, and the timeline of this book is set somewhere between the 1960s to 1970s, or even earlier in terms of social mindset and structure. This was a time when society was deeply male-dominated, and many of the beliefs, behaviors, and household dynamics shown in this story are based on that era and that environment.
I want to make one thing very clear to all readers. The upcoming chapters of this book will become more brutal, more emotionally intense, and more mature in many ways. This is not being written for shock value, but because the story and the characters demand it. If you have read the Love Wins Series, then you already know the kind of man Achindra was — a lustful man who never really cared about women beyond his needs. You also know that Achintya never went to another woman, but he never allowed Gayatri to escape from him either. That was already shown in the series.
This prequel exists to show how that scenario began, why these characters became the way they are, and what kind of environment shaped their personalities, their marriages, and their choices. I have to continue Achindra’s character exactly as it was shown before. I also have to show Achintya’s obsession, which exists on a completely different level — whether it is about keeping Gayatri close, controlling her world, manipulating situations, or shaping her life around himself.
So in short, I cannot soften these characters, because then they will no longer remain the same characters you have already seen.
This book is not written for a light romantic read. This book is for a mature audience, not just because of intimacy, but because of the psychological, emotional, and social realities it shows. You may find brutality, emotional manipulation, dark relationship dynamics, and uncomfortable truths of that time and mindset. You may also find intimacy and complex emotional bonds, but those too belong to these characters and their world.
All I ask from you as readers is this:
Please read this story with an open and mature mind. Do not read it with today’s mindset alone, but try to understand the time period, the society, and the psychology of the characters. Stories are not always written to show ideal people. Sometimes stories are written to show realistic, flawed, dark, complicated people — and this is one of those stories.
This is my final warning as an author:
The upcoming chapters will be more mature, more intense, and more brutal in emotions and situations. If you choose to continue reading, please do so with awareness and understanding of the genre and the characters.
Thank you to everyone who is reading this story and trying to understand these characters beyond just right and wrong.
